The proposed rematch using Deontay Wilder of tyson Fury might be delayed as a result of the reductions he suffered in defeating Otto Wallin on points in Las Vegas, says promoter Frank Warren.
31, fury and cuts around his right eye, boxed and was taken to hospital for surgery.
Warren said Fury’s retrieval timescale could affect the Wilder departure, which has a date of 22.
“When it does not heal well the fight might need to be pushed back,” Warren explained.
“Hopefully that will not be the case. It depends how it heals, if it is OK it will not be an issue.”
He included BBC Radio 5 Live:”It’s not only the fight, it is the practice and sparring. He has to be 100% right.”
The February rematch – following last December draw in Los Angeles – looked challenging given WBC world heavyweight champion Wilder is only due to struggle with Luis Ortiz in November.
But the harms Wallin inflicted in the T-Mobile Arena by virtue of a third-round punch.
The physician twice predicted around Fury’s corner and, as a legal punch had drawn the bloodstream, Wallin would have landed a huge angry by virtue of a specialized stoppage.
BBC Radio 5 Live boxing analyst Steve Bunce said the cuts inflicted”were some of the worst I’ve observed in boxing”.
Former world middleweight champion Andy Lee believes a delay to some Wilder bout is unavoidable and advised 5 Live:”We will see how the cut warms up, but it’s hard to see him fighting in February. That’s one that is going to take six to eight weeks to heal.”
Speaking from hospital in Las Vegas, Warren added:”We’re awaiting a plastic surgeon to come back and stitch his attention.
“The cut his performance but at the end of the afternoon that he awakens. He’ll have micro-surgery on the cuts – one above the eye and one about the eye-lid. It gave Wallin a lot of heart.”
Fury did no post-fight press as a consequence of his injuries, leaving trainer Ben Davison to field questions that are tough as a consequence of comments.
Fury’s dad John, who hasn’t been in a position to travel to the US for fights due to previous convictions, said that his son looked”feeble as a kitten”, adding the display was”the worst I’ve seen from Tyson”.
“It looked like he’d nothing after round two,” he told BT Sport.
“At 18 rock 1, I’ve warned him and warned him. He is a 19-stone fighter.
“If I had my way, the lot [Tyson’s team] would be gone. If they keep that team that’ll be his livelihood [gone].”

Criticism of Fury appears to be harsh given the character of cuts which compelled him to alter his personality and seek a knockout given that he was mindful of the concern doctors showed.
His trainer Davison, who has worked with him since late 2017, told BBC Sport:”If he was as feeble as a kitten he wouldn’t have been able to do 12 rounds like that.
“It was his motor, expertise, strength and dimension that has been the difference. I’m happy.
“John is Tyson’s daddy so that you must honor him. Tyson was feeling prepared. You can not do anything about a bad cut.”
