The most backed horses on Day Three of the Ebor Festival
Stradivarius 4/9 — York 14:25
It’s no surprise punters are backing the superstar stayer to win his eighth cup race in turn land and in a row his Stayers’ Million in for decades. He seems to do every race and it will not be any different now. He is a system and his job today shouldn’t pose any difficulties, although he may not triumph by vast distances. He has defeated his rival Dee Ex Bee, in the market, twice in a row. Whilst a weight swing now is between both, Stradivarius must have the time to watch him off and triumph on board with Frankie.
Threat – 2/1 — York 15:00
Fourteen go to post for this Group 2 race but punters are only interested in 1 horse. Threat who had been runner up at the Coventry is fancied to go one better here. He has the best form in the race and it is obvious punters are currently finding it difficult to look past this two-year-old. He ran into Golden Horne and the mightily impressive Arizona in his last two races and it doesn’t seem like any of his competitors are up to that standard. He might go on to be a huge name in racing and should have a lot too much to them.
Battaash — 9/4 — York 15:35
We have the speedster Battaash. On his day, he is exhilarating but often he is not in his finest. In the last two versions of the Nunthorpe, he has come a fourth. It sounds punters are happy to forgive the Charlie Hills trained horse. Ten Sovereigns, his principal rival could be ideal for 6f rather than 5f along with the shorter the better for Baattash. This has culminated in a lot of support for your five-year-old and if he is in his scintillating best he will soon be difficult to oppose.
