Ruiz Jr vs Joshua: Anthony Joshua insists he can exploit Andy Ruiz Jr’s ‘weaknesses’
Anthony Joshua has vowed to”expose” Andy Ruiz Jr in their world heavyweight championship rematch.
Ruiz Jr shocked Joshua to win the WBO, WBA and IBF titles in June but a second battle will take place in Saudi Arabia on December 7, now live on Sky Sports Box Office.
“A tiny blip shouldn’t change you as a person,” Joshua only told Sky Sports out of Saudi Arabia in a press conference on Wednesday.
“You need to stay constant with that you are.
“I will become familiar with him. I know what I’m in for. I understand what I am capable of. I know what he’s really capable of.
“I understand some of the features he owns, and some of the weaknesses. I must begin exposing him a bit more.
“The very first time I had him down [from the first battle ], I might have been smarter. These little things you think about in your head.
“I meet him eye-to-eye again and again, honestly, the clock is ticking and that I start thinking more and more about the fight.”
Ruiz Jr and joshua went face to face for the very first time since their battle if they reconvened on Wednesday in Saudi Arabia, the location of their rematch.
Ruiz Jr told Sky Sports:”He will bring his game, I’ll bring mine.
“I said I could win, I stated I’d pull off an upset but nobody thought me except my team.
“With that confidence and fire in you? If you would like to accomplish something, you are likely to get it done.
“Joshua is focused to get these belts back but are I. The Mexican blood in me will [allow me ] pull it off.
“I respect Joshua. He is a good friend but he does not like me! But within the ring there will be no respect, there’ll be no friends.
“I’m always the nice guy but within the ring I [imagine ] the switch and I become’The Destroyer’.”
