Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti says Liverpool have improved since Champions League win last season
Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti believes that Liverpool are an even better side after their Champions League win this past season, as the clubs prepare to proceed head-to-head from the contest.
Ahead of the Reds prevailed at Anfield lorenzo Insigne strike was all that separated the sides at the corresponding group-stage fixture last year.
Together with the teams paired together in the Champions League for the second successive season, Ancelotti knows of the people’ threat but claims night Napoli have improved ahead of clash on Tuesday.
He explained:”We are playing the best team in Europe and they haven’t dropped any issues at the Premier League yet.
“The outcome is quite crucial in matches like this but it is even more important we’ve got the confidence to coincide with the top teams out there.
“Last year we had been in a very hard group and we very nearly capable. We are determined to eliminate the disappointment of last time, which had a mental impact Serie A on us .
“Normally it is the European champions that are favourites but we expect it ends exactly the same manner as last season’s game at the San Paolo.
“Liverpool have improved because winning the Champions League gives you belief.
“Napoli have improved too and we’ve bolstered our team with the inclusion of some superior players. I believe it’ll be a terrific match – hard fought and intense.”
Liverpool pipped in qualifying for its 16 final word by virtue of scoring more goals in the group stage after the groups couldn’t be divided on many of other determining variables and points Napoli.
The Reds went on to scoop the prestigious trophy in European club competition, but glory does not appear to have blunted their ambition as they have begun the Premier League campaign with five straight wins.
Ancelotti included:”We want to play a starring part, initially by reaching the knockout stage and cementing our place as one of Europe’s top clubs.
“We know how great we are and we want to establish it on the global stage.”
