Mohamed Elyounoussi could make Celtic debut against Hamilton
Mohamed Elyounoussi can make his debut at Hamilton on Saturday since the Scottish champions look to keep their 100 per cent start.
The 25-year-old joined Celtic in Southampton on a loan a month, having transferred from Basel to St Mary’s the prior summer in a # 16m switch.
“He is a bit different,” explained Celtic manager Neil Lennon when requested about the Norway global.
“He can play the right, off the striker or on the leftside. He has got a target in himtechnically he is a great player.
“He simply adds to the quality we already have.
“With Michael (Johnston) being out, who’s been our beginning left-sided winger, Mo has got a possibility of being in contention for a starting place.”
Lennon added:”He’s an excellent player. He lost his way a little bit but you never lose the skill. It is around me and my staff to tap into that again.”
Elyounoussi was one of nine Celtic signings throughout the summer transfer window also Lennon was thrilled with their organization enterprise, in particular that the Day registering of Greg Taylor by Kilmarnock.
“You always search for longer but I am really very happy, right up until Greg came in,” said Lennon. “That was a really good bit of business by the club too.
“We understood defensively we dropped some excellent players in the summertime. We believe that with a number of those year-long loans which we have brought in, there’s a desire to get up their livelihood and moving again and to demonstrate the qualities they had earlier.
“There’s been a bit of thinking behind that process concerning the players we have brought in.
“In relation to the first-team squad, I’m quite satisfied with the hard work that has gone in to getting the players done.
“We have a healthy squad with ability in forward regions, good strong defenders and caliber players on the ball.”
Lennon will miss the trip to The HopeCBD Stadium together with Johnston and Nir Bitton and says defender Jozo Simunovic will be seeing a specialist about his knee problem.
“The internationals have return fit and well,” said Lennon. “The only absentees we’ve got are out of the fallout in the Rangers match.
“Nir will be out for three months with a hamstring strain and Mikey with a groin injury.
“Jozo gets the continuing knee problem as well, so he’s seeing a specialist [on Friday].
“Tom Rogic is fit today. That is a welcome increase. Kris (Ajer) is healthy so he will be in contention. It is great to have this strength .”
