The Phils have solid power numbers against Wheeler, as they have linked for 7 home runs and 22 runs in 185 plate appearances. In his most recent showing against the Phillies, Wheeler was murdered for 2 hits and 6 earned runs in five innings. The Phillies went on for an 8-3 win.
He’s a difficult matchup against Nola inside this contest. Nola has been pitching well with a 2.57 ERA and also 0.71 WHIP in his past 3 outings. He hasn’t allowed more than 3 runs in a match since July 28th from the Braves, so it’s been over a month.
Nola has also excelled at home, posting a 2.94 ERA and 1.21 WHIP rather than a 4.35 ERA on the street. Also keep in mind that the Mets are hitting just .215 contrary to Nola from 209 at-bats.
