Maryland vs. Rutgers NCAAF Pick – Week 6
The Maryland Terrapins will Seem to bounce back after a performance against the Penn State Nittany Lions in Week 5.
In what had been no doubter for Penn State a score of 59-0 smacked them. That was supposed to be a statement game for Maryland. A game to prove that the Terrapins can hang with the big boys of this conference and belong at the Big Ten.
It didnt happen, not whatsoever. Until they werent moving penn State bludgeoned Maryland. Maryland were losers per week prior as well, with a loss from the Temple Owls. The idea there was that Maryland got caught looking forward. Given the results a week, Maryland thought about some thing but it sure was not soccer.
This turn was surprising for Maryland. This dive happened immediately following a win on the Syracuse Orange. Was held to two interceptions and 65 yards . The Terrapins will look to find the pieces at New Jersey at Rutgers University. Rutgers hope to secure their second win of this season in such a one.
Rutgers have just one win to show for their efforts in 2019. This was the UMass Minuteman, contrary to a fellow jump fire program. The Scarlet Knights are coming off a blowout loss of 52-0 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. They have lost in 2019 against Big Ten foes by a combined score of 82-0.
Their additional Big Ten matchup was a loss against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Speaking of groups that do not belong in the Big Ten. Rutgers must choose their ball and go find the next seminar prepared to carry them. The AAC are a much better fit for the confused and lost Knights. Texas Tech transport, McLane Carter, has been named the starting quarterback to take on UMass. He led Rutgers to a 48-21 win and it finally looked as if they had a quarterback. A week 14, later Carter suffered a concussion This was short lived.
Rutgers have been forced to return to their starting QB Artur Sitkowski, from last year. You are conscious of how awful Sitkowski was, In case you followed Rutgers at all. He had been the worst fulltime starting quarterback at the FBS, with chucked 4 touchdowns along with a whopping 18 interceptions on just 49.1% completions.
Sitkowski will probably be back in the saddle against Maryland at Week 6. Carter has not yet been cleared to go back to play, so Sitkowski will probably be called on again. Its gone in 2019 for Sitkowski much but that is not saying much. Sitkowski has thrown a touchdown with 2 interceptions on 64.7% completions. So thats something his completion percentage is up considerably. Throwing more interceptions than touchdowns is something that he must get under control.
Former Virginia Tech QB, Josh Jackson, was good for Maryland this year with 789 yards passing with 4 interceptions and 8 touchdowns. Since he showcased his own ability, jackson placed on a display for the Hokies a few seasons past. He handed for 20 touchdowns and 9 interceptionsand 6 scores on the ground. Jackson was off from Penn State, but look for him to get back on course in dominant style against Rutgers.
The Scarlet Knights input 91st in the country using 414 yards allowed per game. Theyve been getting torched with nearly 200 yards surrendered a match, typically. The Terrapins also have accumulated 223 rushing yards per game and also are effective at running the ball.
Look for Maryland to assert themselves in the floor and take the match over. This looks like a good spot for freshman Anthony McFarland Jr. to go off for big amounts. Cover and maryland probably have this one at least 2 touchdowns to win the spread.
