Marco Silva denies extra Everton pressure after successive defeats
Everton manager Marco Silva has refused feeling pressure because of a series of three consecutive Premier League defeats.
The Toffees picked up seven points in their first four league matches, but declines to Sheffield United, Bournemouth and Manchester City have seen them fall to 15th – two points above the relegation zone.
“We are not happy when you examine the dining table,” said Silva. “Obviously we are not happy when we did not win the last few games. I know one approach to improve – work difficult. Harder if possible. Show larger desire and commitment.
“I don’t feel more stress due to the outcomes. What I feel is more want to work with our players to demand more from these. We’ve got the quality to reach outcomes that are different. It’s up to us to stick together and do what we should do in the matches.
Everton traveling to carry to a Burnley side unbeaten in their past three matches.
Silva has been given a fitness increase with the news which Andre Gomez, who has been Theo Walcott, who suffered concussion against City last weekend, and out with a rib problem, are both in contention.
“Andre has overlooked the previous month,” said Silva. “He has worked throughout the week and although he is a little more exhausted than his team-mates that is organic. It’s up to us to continue working with him to get him to the identical degree as the others.
“Theo ceased for two or three days and we will have to decide if he’s ready.”
