Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola made evident the effects of their punishing Christmas schedule, saying his players would be stored by him .
The Spaniard, keen not about having to play 2 games in less than 48 hours to make direct complaints, talked at his press conference.
Go home, open the refrigerator and get inside for 48 hours, he explained.
See you at the Etihad Stadium in two days. Im not joking.
Guardiola added:When I open up the fridge to create an omelette possibly I speak with my players then, but aside from that, no way
City discovered on Thursday that they will need to play with two games.
They see Wolves on 27 December (19:45 GMT) and amuse Sheffield United on 29 December (18:00).
The Premier League title of city rivals Liverpool, who go to Leicester on Boxing Day, have almost an extra day to prepare for their game against natives, who have to play in less time than Guardiolas team.
Guardiola, whose side path Liverpool after eight matches by eight points and travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday, is not able to whine about the situation.
He thinks it could be counterproductive to generate a fuss or permit himself to believe his team were being treated while he feels too much is being asked of his players.
Overcoming adversity was the reason City became the first crew to finish a sweep of domestic decorations – like the Community Shield – season.
Its a business, he explained. The people dont care about those players. Hes injured? OK, another one.
Weve solved it in the past and we are going to solve it in the future. It is the only strategy. Dont complain or call my chairman or go to the bosses.
If we can not solve anything then we cannot win four titles in 1 year
