Team information, key stats and predictions before Norwich vs Manchester City in the Premier League
Norwich have been struck by a string of injury setbacks ahead of champions Manchester City’s visit. Full-back Max Aarons (ankle) is set for a spell out after accident on international duty with England U21s, whereas fellow miniature Lions defender Ben Godfrey is going to be assessed on a groin issue.
Goalkeeper Tim Krul (elbow) is also doubtful and on-loan City winger Patrick Roberts is not qualified to confront his parent team. Midfielders Mario Vrancic and Moritz Leitner (both elbows ) are sidelined, combined with Tom Trybull (ankle), whilst captain Christoph Zimmermann (foot), shield Timm Klose along with winger Onel Hernandez (both knee) all carry on their own rehab.
City defender John Stones is best healthy to return following a thigh injury. He’ll choose the place of Aymeric Laporte, that has been ruled out for five to six months. Striker Gabriel Jesus (thigh) comes in contention and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has defeat a stomach bug but Benjamin Mendy (knee) isn’t yet ready to return and winger Leroy Sane (knee) is out long term.
Norwich vs Manchester City is currently live on Saturday Night Football from 5pm; kick-off 5.30pm. Clips that are in-game can be watched by sky Sports clients in the live match blog about the Sky Sports website and program. Highlights are also released on the Sky Sports Football YouTube station along with the Sky Sports electronic platforms shortly.
You have no reason to look at Man City’s issues and worry, aside from the harm to Aymeric Laporte. Norwich are great going – Todd Cantwell has started great also although everybody is speaking about Teemu Pukki. The full-backs like to get high, but they won’t be doing that against City. The Norwich defenders will probably be rash against the side of Pep Guardiola. The fact Grant Hanley cannot get from the Scotland side tells something to you.
Daniel Farke does not adopt a plan B, which I re – the expectation is that you’re going to get beat. If you inquire 90 per cent of Norwich fans now if they would have a 4-1 hammering hoping to start the game up, or if they would rather lose 1-0 rather than have a shot on goal, I think they would go to the former. They ought to go from a positive element, which is how you examine yourself at it although it is not an embarrassment. Kevin De Bruyne was great in Glasgow, as was Raheem Sterling over the international break, which is the reason why I will proceed with this scoreline.
CHARLIE PREDICTS: 2-6 (66/1 with Sky Bet)
