Laois set to appoint former Kerry star Mike Quirke as new football manager
Former Kerry star Mike Quirke is set to become the manager of the Laois senior footballers.
Laois Today are currently reporting that the four-time All-Ireland winner is set to become the third Kerry native to shoot the reins after Paul Galvin and Jack O’Connor took the Wexford and Kildare jobs respectively.
Quirke will take over from John Sugrue, who oversaw promotions . Sugrue also directed the side to around four of the qualifiers in championships.
Quirke becomes the first time Kerry person to lead the O’Moore County in recent years, following Liam Kearns Mick O’Dwyer, Tom??s ?? Flatharta and Sugrue.
Even the Kerins O’Rahilly’s club guy will aim to continue the progress made in the past times, as they look to consolidate their Section 2 status in 2020.
