Kansas City Chiefs 24-31 Houston Texans: Deshaun Watson stars in surprise win
Deshaun Watson Conducted in two touchdowns and threw for another as the Houston Texans upset the Kansas City Chiefs 31-24 at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Texans (4-2) regained from falling 17-3 behind in the first quarter to inflict another straight home defeat the Chiefs (4-2).
Its the first time the Chiefs raises questions above their below-par shield, which struggled to stop the Texans throughout and have dropped back-to-back house games since 2013.
Former Chiefs running back Carlos Hyde ran for 116 yards and one touchdown, although Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill scored two touchdowns on his return from injury, but it had been Texans quarterback Watson who starred as he won the battle with fellow 2017 draft pick Patrick Mahomes.
In the first NFL assembly between the two young quarterbacks, Watson made an impressive screen – despite several bad drops from his receivers – while Mahomes appeared mesmerized by an ankle injury and threw for 41 yards in the second halfof
It seemed as they surged to a 17-3 lead to the first quarter as the Chiefs might dominate.
Hill scored the first touchdown in style that was sensational as he leapt above two defenders to claim a pass.
Running Hyde, who had been traded to the Texans in the Chiefs before the start of the season, then fumbled to the Texans first offensive play to provide the ball straight back to the Chiefs.
Despite the fact that the Texans then got on the board with a field goal of their own and was able to hold on the Chiefs, a drive ended off by Damien Williams made it 17-3.
However, the Texans struck back in the next quarter as they held the Chiefs scoreless.
Duke Johnson dived into the corner to cut the lead earlier Mahomes was intercepted in the end zone – his first interception in 292 passing attempts.

It looked as though the momentum could be using the home side since Charvarius Ward made a brilliant one-handed interception in the end zone.
The Chiefs went three and out on their next possession and then couldnt prevent a touchdown push from the Texans that lasted minutes.
Watson arrowed a pass into Hopkins for its conversion and ran in the touchdown himself.
The deficit couldnt be cut by the Chiefs as they punted back to the Texans and were able to produce a stop because the Texans converted on fourth down to seal the win.
As they move on the road to confront AFC West rivals Denver Broncos the Chiefs are next in action on Thursday Night Football. They host the Green Bay Packers in Week Eight.
The Texans travel to confront AFC South competitions Indianapolis Colts in Week 2 in Week Eight before a home match against the Oakland Raiders.
