An Italian television channel says it won’t use one of its pundits again after he made a racist comment.
Speaking on TopCalcio24, Luciano Passirani said:”If you move one-on-one together with him he will kill you.
“The only way to come up against him would be perhaps give him 10 bananas to eat…”
Programme director Fabio Ravezzani stated, despite Passirani’s”immediate apologies” that”he would no longer take part on our broadcasts”.
Lukaku, who transferred from Manchester United to Inter helped his side .
“Mr Passirani is 80 years old and to compliment Lukaku he had a metaphor which turned out to be racist,” additional Ravezzani.
“I think that it was a terrible absence of short term lucidity.
“I can’t tolerate any type of errors, even if momentary.”
Lukaku was subjected to monkey chants from Cagliari fans when he scored a penalty for his side.
Afterwards, the Belgium international stated the abuse showed the game was”going backwards”.
