Huddersfield fined £50,000 over Paddy Power shirt stunt
Huddersfield Town are fined later admitting a Football Association charge of misconduct concerning a controversial marketing stunt involving a company, # 50,000.
The FA asked the Championship side to spell out their Paddy Power shirt worn on July 17 in an match against Rochdale.
The strip featured a huge diagonal sash with patrons’Paddy Power’ written it down.
As a result, the team violated section C.2i of the FA’s Kit and Promotion regulations, which says a jersey is permitted to possess”one single area not exceeding 250 square centimetres on the front part of the shirt”.
The club have now admitted the fee and the governing body has cautioned Huddersfield within their future conduct.
An FA statement said:”Huddersfield Town FC was fined #50,000 and cautioned as to the future conduct by an independent Regulatory Commission after admitting that a fee in regard to The FA’s Bundle and Advertising Regulations.
“Playing kit worn from the club’s original group during a pre-season favorable against Rochdale AFC on 17 July 2019 violated FA Regulation C.2(I).”
