Dodgers vs. Marlins MLB Pick – August 15th
It was not quite enjoy the onslaught on Tuesday, but the Dodgers opened up another blowout win around the Miami Marlins last night at Marlins Park. On the heels of a 15-1 win, the Dodgers didn’t slow down and slammed the Marlins with a score of 9-1. Justin Turner opened up the scoring with a solo shot Eliaser Hernandez and the Dodgers kept attacking.
The offense weren’t the ones getting following it. For a second consecutive night, the Dodgers received output signal from both their offensive and pitching components. Clayton Kershaw was on fire and got through half of the match with a great match. He left the contest with only two hits yielded and 10 strikeouts. If their rotation can fire on all cylinders like that come October, then the Dodgers are going to become an impossible out from the postseason.
We have to keep in mind this really has been the Miami Marlins that Dustin May and Kershaw chewed up and spit out, however. The Marlins are the worst offense in the significant leagues and they have struggled to score. Nevertheless, Kershaw has frustrated a great deal of hitters and May is the very best pitching prospect in the Dodgers’ system.
Next up from the turning to get the Dodgers will be Walker Buehler. He is another option in their rotation that is mortal on the bulge also. There aren’t too many rotations in baseball who will lose two members and fire away like this.
The Indians have success without Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco, and the Dodgers are still flourishing without Rich Hill and Ross Stripling. Buehler will get the phone against Caleb Smith, who is hoping that the Dodger bats are done with hitting the laces off the ball this afternoon. Head below to our complimentary Dodgers vs. Marlins pick.

The Yankees sent Caleb Smith into the Marlins within this Giancarlo Stanton deal a Few Years Back. He’s been showing some steady progress and has been a bright spot in an otherwise down season for the Marlins. After submitting an ERA of 7.71 in nine appearances with the Yankees in 2017, Smith improved on that in his very first time in Miami. Smith published a 4.19 ERA in 16 starts and has improved on that figure, at least so far.
Having a major discount late in the season, he’s likely to have an ERA under 4.00 for first time in his young major league career. His last outing is just one to overlook, with allowed 10 hits and 6 earned runs in 4.2 innings against the Braves. In his last three outings, Smith has also already posted a 5.94 ERA along with 1.56 WHIP in 16.2 innings. Against this Dodgers’ offense, he should expect to do better than Yamamoto and Hernandez, but that still might not bring the Marlins close to a win here.
Walker Buehler has ever had his way against the Marlins in the past. They’re hitting only .211 with no home runs in 57 at-bats. In general, not many teams have been in a position to hit Buehler difficult this season. It is not only the dreadful Marlins’ offense, who are dead last in the majors in runs scored per game. Buehler posted an ERA of 2.21 and 1.13 WHIP in his past three outings.
He’s surrendered only 1-run at 15 innings of work and allowed no or 1 runs in 3 of his past four starts. The Dodgers are all rolling up and I really still don’t find it stopping on Thursday. Do not anticipate a beatdown just like we saw the previous two days, but the Dodgers likely have control throughout this match to get a 6-3 or even 5-2 success.
