Bury given two-week reprieve as winding-up order adjourned
A judge has adjourned a bid.
English Football League officials could cover debts.
The club had been left to the brink of liquidation after a buyer stopped their interest prompting supporters’ group Forever Bury to declare they would not continue their legal fight to prevent the HMRC winding-up petition.
Judge Mark Mullen analysed the case of Bury on Wednesday.
Lawyers representing Customs and HM Revenue had made an attempt to wind up the club, which was founded in 1885.
The judge said he’d reconsider the situation on October 30.
In Junethe judge had other debts and had heard that Bury spent almost # 1m.
Bury won promotion on Sky Bet League One football’s third tier, in the conclusion of the 2018-19 campaign.
Plans to get a phoenix club have been in place, which will have to employ to the FA for entry to non-league football next season.
